Hi Pat, good question, it was purchased as "Dragon Veins Agate", which puts it squarely in the middle of nowhere really. The only thing I will guarantee on the beads is that they aren't glass. If I do willingly buy synthetics I do state that they are synthetic. As to whether or not these are agate or agate under another name......which is as you probably know is an extremely wide family.......your guess is as good as mine. I can tell you however that the colour is not quite as outrageous as it appears in the pics on my screen ! Beads are a tough lot to categorise and I only offer them by request of my frequent buyers....what you see is what you get....give or take a shade in colour as according to our differing monitors......and....no synthetics unless stated as synthetic.
