Description

* For the record:

The term Siberian no more indicates the origin of this amethyst than pigeon blood rubies indicates the ruby comes from birds!

“Siberian” amethyst is the name for a specific color morph of amethyst just like Rose de France. It is characterized by a 70% or better color saturation. Meaning it is deep purple, sometimes on the verge of black . It also indicates this stone has blue and red fire.

This is an accepted description by all gem societies and gemologists. It has been that way since the 1980’s and beyond.

Russian amethyst was the first to be described displaying these characteristics, so the description name “Siberian” stuck, but other places now produce the same type of stone. Most notably, Uruguay.

All Siberian amethyst to my knowledge comes these days from Uruguay and Zambia.

Please feel free to research this. I might recommend Cally Oldershaw’s newest edition “Gems of the World” 2008, Pg.187 for a full explanation.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these stones or my other stock. I will be happy to discuss at length, anything concerning my stones.

I would also direct you to my guarantee.

ONE OF THE FAVORITES OF THE HOUSE OF ROMANOV, SIBERIAN AMETHYST WAS FIRST DISCOVERED IN, AS THE NAME STATES, SIBERIAN RUSSIA. IT QUICKLY BECAME THE RAGE AMONG THE UPPER ECHELONS OF RUSSIAN SOCIETY.

SIBERIAN AMETHYST HAS SEVERAL PECULIAR QUALITIES THAT DIFFERENTIATE IT FROM REGULAR AMETHYST.

IT IS USUALLY OF A VERY DARK PURPLE, SOMETIMES REACHING WHAT LOOKS TO BE BLACK.

ANOTHER IS THE FIRE. SIBERIAN AMETHYSTS HAVE A RED AND BLUE FIRE THAT NO OTHER AMETHYST HAS. THIS IS IT! THE REAL THING. THIS STONE IS CUSHION CUT AND IS ELECTRIFYING .FIREY  RED, BLUE AND PURPLE SPARKS SHOOT FROM EVERY ANGLE. A REAL SHOW STOPPER.

SIBERIAN AMETHYST GENERALLY RUNS BETWEEN 20.00 AND 100.00 A CARAT WHOLESALE........ MINE?........
