A GRADE AMETERINE       
  This rough  ameterine  specimen that  has been clean /rubbed down  and  is now ready for cabbing or facating.This stone has been hand picked out of a large parcel from the miner.They are clean rubs showing no major faults or inclusions and should be a pleasure to cut.

Ametrine is a naturally occurring variety of Quartz. It is a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine gemstones with zones of purple or orange. Almost all commercially available A metrine is mined in Bolivia, there are also deposits being exploited in Brazil and India. The Anahi Minein Bolivia is the major world producer of Ametrine. The mine first became famous in the seventeenth century when a Spanish conquistador received it as a dowry when he married a princess from the Ayoreos tribe named Anahi. Ametrine was introduced to Europe through the conquistador's gifts to the Spanish queen.
