Description
Pakistani aquamarine Gilgit mine. Large emerald cut genuine aquamarine. Beautiful luster with only slight inclusions visible to the naked eye are seen in this stone. Aquamarine comes from the mineral beryl the same as does emerald. Aquamarine has iron as the coloring agent where emerald has chromium. when purchasing parcels of cut aquamarine if there are greenish stones in the parcel this is a good way of telling no heat was used. The greenish tones turn to blue at around 800 degrees farienheit. Major deposits are found in Brazil. Other economic deposits are found in Tanzania, Kenya, Nambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Myanmar, USA, and Russia. The Russian mines are not presently in production due to being mined out. The starting price on this stone is very low with no reserve.
