 The rough for this material was purchased from Brazil, handwork carving was done in India. Absolutely wonderful piece of artwork. Very hard to find. Carnelian is principally mined in Brazil, India and Africa.  I had them carved into larger pieces and i have made mistake before in having carvings made to small. At the mouth of the fish head, there has been a hole drilled to hang as a pendant. Below the eyes, at the mouth.
