This a farm harvested coral that has been dyed red.It i s illegal to deal or export natural red coral. This is a branch of coral that has been drilled.

Coral are tentacled skeletal creatures building reefs in clear, warm seawaters. Once dead, the coral becomes grey colour, which is then permanently dyed a deep red colour.The hard skeleton of red coral branches is naturally matte, but can be polished to a glassy shine
