VS Very slight inlcusion; Very slight inclusion seen, slight inclusion seen with a x10 magnification loupe, No inclusion is seen without aid to the eye, This gem can be a little confusing with under the loupe, This 2.15 CTW Kyanite, is beautiful and has he normal color seen in most Kyanite Using a loupe you can see the color streak mentioned below, but as for inclusion there is very little, this is a nice clean gem and has very nice color!! The oval step cut is perfection!
This Kyanite has a nice Sapphire blue color which is what you want to see in this gem when choosing to purchase a stone.
Kyanite is not treated for color.
Color is often not consistent throughout the crystal, often showing white streaks in an medium blue. Kyanite is a layered crystal with a luster that is vitreous to almost pearly, which gives it an interesting and unique look. Its variable hardness is a significant characteristic that has to be taken in consideration by the gem-cutter. Hardness is 4- 4.5 Moh's when scratched parallel to the long axis of the crystal and 6-7 when cut perpendicular to or across the long axis. It's a nice gemstone for earrings or pendants.
