Most druzy quartz occurs inside of chalcedony geodes forming as nodules in ancient volcanic rocks or lava. Silicate and zeolitic minerals are deposited in layers upon the walls of the cavity. A hollow or "geode" is caused when the deposition process does not proceed to the point of filling the cavity. The interior of the geode can then become encrusted with a fine layer of druzy amethyst or quartz crystals, hence the "stardust" effect. Druzy is often enhanced to achieve the myriad of colors and scintillation found in the druzy jewelry.

Druzy has long been used in the diagnosis of disease. It is believed to enhance E.S.P. (extra-sensory perception) abilities and is believed to aid in balancing and increasing energy.

The color is incredible and the banding within the Agate only increases that "gotta get a closer look" sensation! Adorned in 925 Sterling Silver and 14kt GF bindings, Amethyst gemstones have been added to bring out the "pop" of colors. Agate lore spans across the times to ancient Egyptian and Indian culture. Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet in these ancient times and was said to quench thirst and protect against fever. Carved Agate bowls were a huge part of European and Byzantine history. Agate in today's world is said to have power in love, mental clarity and luck in card games.
