158.5ct. Extremely Rare South Afrian Chatoyant Malachite Egg. Mined in South Africa over 22 years ago. No source that we know of today produces any chatoyant material. The chatoyant material is considered the ultimate in malachite and not only sought after by collectors but prized by all gem enthusiasts. We by surprise got these when we bought out a old New York based rock distributors inventory so when these are gone we cannot get more!! Each egg is unique due to its own individual pattern so no two alike. Opaque with light to mild surface chatoyancy with some normal surface cavitations typical of this material and free of any major flaws. 30.05 x 24.10mm.
