Tanzanite Gemstones : Tanzanite was first introduced in 1969 and is found only in a relative small, approximately, five square mile area near the Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania. Tanzanite comes in various shades of violet-blue. The less expensive colours range toward violet, a light purplish blue. The best and more expensive colours are a rich deep blue with just a hint of violet.
