Description
I purchased a couple parcels of cut green and blue stones from Namak Mandi market in Peshawar Pakistan. I sent a blue and a green stone away for apprasial and certification at Harold Weinstein Labs. I'm listing the stones on the auction site at less than trade value. Trade in the industry is considered the value that jewelers purchase at themselves. Tripple key pricing. Trade is 1/2 wholesale and 1/3 retail. The same as given in the Stuller book of Colored Stones and Diamonds. I tried to purchase the most pleasing tones to the eyes as isn't that what its all about?
Certified apprasied stones are taken from parcels. Stones from the same parcels are offered for less in the non certified section of this auction site. Just look at the price and see what type of deal your getting. Appraised prices are at fair market value as deemed by the gemologist at the time of certification. Please note the date on the apprasials.
This stone was not appraised. Look at the size of this one and the color tone. I love this tone. Just when you see one tone you think you like best there is another just as nice. That is the way with this parcel of Afghan tourmaline. All my tourmaline is the Afghan variety. One of the edges is abraded a bit as the photo's will show. It is not readily apparent under normal circumstances. The starting price for a stone this large and this color and clarity is substancually lower than trade value. Stones this size in this quality are quite rare and as you can see beautiful to the human eye.
