18k white gold cocktail necklace set with natural blue sapphires and diamonds.

This is a statement necklace, weighing 70 grams in total. The gold weigh approximately 65 grams.

The blue sapphires weigh approximately 32 carats, all rose cut sapphires, thus appearing so generous. The diamonds weigh approximately 4 carats in total.

There are 10 sapphires in all: 8 oval cuts, 1 round cut (12mm), and 1 teardrop cut (18mm).

The biggest is the round cut sapphire, approximately 3.2ct; the smallest sapphire is approximately 1.15ct.

The sapphires are a dark blue, approximating royal blue.

I say ‘approximating’ royal blue as this is a sapphire color that has been used rather mindlessly. Please refer to video to get a more accurate idea.

The sapphires are set closed back, in floral bezels accented with brilliant cut diamonds.

A Y necklace that is part lavaliere and part bib necklace, this is a very soothing cocktail piece. It does not ‘wear’ the wearer, because the stones are organic in their rose cuts, and the diamonds are accent stones that do not form a crazy halo.

Also, there is something about the contrast of the dark blue against the white gold. It is accurate to say the eyes pick up mostly the organic roundness of the blue stones before anything else.

The necklace will fall just below the clavicles. This is longer than a choker (15” or so), but at the perfect position for statement necklaces to wear prominently.
