Fantastic gem Calcite with kaleidoscope effect. Calcite has very strong dispersion, and when cut properly, can give off all kinds of rainbow colors, as you can see from the pictures. This stone has a top quality professional cut that really highlights its kaleidoscope effect. Calcite is a very soft mineral though, with only a hardness of 3, so this stone is a bit abraded. Could you a touch up polish. That’s why we have it priced so low. Fantastic stone for a collector. This is the first and only one of these I’ve seen. Has a twinned plane with can be seen through Polariscope. Very neat stone.
