This stone was recut to have proper GIA guidelines for pavilion and crown angles.  These angles vary depending upon the RI of different type gems.  Zircon has a high RI compared to most other gemstones.  That is why it looks so flashy when cut correctly like this one is.  I priced the stone very modestly so people can have a great stone for a trade price which is 1/2 wholesale. Or 1/3 retail.  I try to bring excellent prices to GemRockAuctions.com.  This gem is better than eye clean. I don’t notice any inclusions inside the stone with the loupe.  The facet edges are all in perfect shape no more abrasions.  Don’t pass this up if you love nice colors in natural mined gems at a bargain price.  If you purchased the rough and took it to your cutter it would cost you more in cutting fees alone than my asking price. I kid you not!

In Cambodia zircon is mined down tunnels that go down to a gravelly layer where the rounded zircon pebbles are found.  A pump is needed to pump out ground that constantly seeps in.  Many stones are heated to see if they can get the prized red and blue colors.  When heated many stones turn to the prized blue color.
