Supreme multi-ammonite MARSTON MARBLE specimen from the county of Somerset UK. This has been given a Museum Quality durable polish with a 10 step polishing process and it will not dis-color over time - even if touched.
“Marston marble” is a conglomeration of tiny, rare ammonites (promicroceras martonensis and ziphoceras ammonites) from the Jurassic Period, approximately 190 million years old.
‘Marston marble’ is one of Britain’s rarest rocks. It occurs in nodules which, when broken open, are seen to be crowded with small ammonites tightly packed together. It is very attractive when cut and polished.
Marston Marble is the only gem grade natural ammonite marble and one of the rarest lapidary materials. 190 million years old from the Lower Jurassic. This material is found as rare large sectarian nodules in clay and found only near Marston Magna in Somerset, UK.
This fascinating material was previously used to make grave markers in the local churchyard, but the location of the find was lost for many years, making it a holy grail to fossil hunters and collectors.
Discovered some ten years ago whilst prospecting the rivers around this famous locality this piece of highly fossiliferous stone was embedded in the banking, taken back and prepared. The exact locality within Marston Magna still remains a mystery to this day and try as they might, many collectors have tried and failed to locate probably one of the most famous ammonite associations in history. This piece of marble indicates a major catastrophe which killed and covered over many millions of these ammonites in a single event. The marble which was discovered over two hundred years ago and can be seen in the Natural History Museum in London. Approximately 200 million years old.
Healing Properties of Marston Marble: The brown calcite clears the lower chakras as the mineral draws you in and guides your awareness down, so you immediately feel a profound sense of calm and grounding when holding it. This can be used to facilitate a deep state of meditation and strong connection with the Earth, or if placed under the pillow, induce deep and undisturbed sleep. Also used in journey meditation. The spiral is perhaps the oldest human symbol and exists in virtually every culture from at least Neolithic times. The spiral shape of the ammonite shell is symbolic of the cycles of life, including life, death and rebirth, moon phases and the seasons, and also of resurrection in the Christian religion.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.
When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.
