It is a very common mineral and gem quality crystals can be found in Brazil, Indian ,Kenya, Mexico, Madagascar, Burma, Norway, South Africa and the USA. Some of the most sought after Apatite has a strong neon blue green color that rivals the Paraiba Tourmaline. If it is cut into a domed Cabochon gem, in some cases it can exhibit a cats eye effect known as Chatoyancy.
