GR 80 We don't know why mankind bothered to make an artificial stone to copy the natural zircon. While they can produce a few different colours they in no way would be capable of producing the massive range of colour that mother earth has and will keep on producing. This stone was cut and polished by us at the Steve and Linda's of the earth lapidary. I selected this stone from the Tanzanian sapphire parcel. Once I'd finished polishing it and took it off the dopstick  I knew something was wrong. I've yet to see any sapphire have so much sparkle and fire. I took it to our gemologist hoping I was wrong but she confirmed my suspicions, it was a zircon. But what a magnificent zircon it is. The fire and brilliance that this stone exhibits would make a strong man melt. My wife will not like it that I have put this up for sale { I will have to cut another one for her!} Cut properly these stones can make some diamonds look ordinary! While they don't have the scratch resistance of a sapphire this stone would make a good solitaire dress ring.
