Perfectly eye clean (in one position there is a “feeling” the stone has a tiny sparkle on the side, but it is an optical illusion), almost loop clean. Transparency is very high but due to richness and depth of the color is not that obvious (video show virtually non-transparent stone. No, it is not so and the stone is not even THAT dark. On the darker side of Medium Dark grade but not Dark (of course you need a good strong light to see the real transparency and clarity of the stone). But my camera doesn't see anything when a stone is relatively dark and deep – only a dark spot of a certain shape). Magnificent color, high quality sparkling diamonds, fine setting – beautiful ring!
Note: All rubies and sapphires I purchased long time ago from reputable sellers. I buy unheated and heated only rubies and blue sapphires and only unheated fancy sapphires. Many had certificates; those that didn't my partner (great gemologist and a professor of geology) or I (I received my gemological diploma in 1978 and have over 40 years of experience) checked ourselves. Before listing (and/or sending to GIA) I checked stones again. My microscope is 300 miles away in our lab so I checked stones with chemicals. This test will not say if a stone is heated or unheated, but it will tell if it was lead-glass/silica/beryllium treated. So, this stone is free of “modern” treatments and can be either heated or unheated. Due to under 1 ct weight I didn't want to send it to GIA and pay $85 for the report plus FedEx two-way cost and listed for the below (much below actually) price for heated stones.
