GR67 This sapphire is from the Umba valley Tanzania parcel we obtained many years ago. the cut on this stone i copied from a princess cut diamond. it has excellent brilliance, the inclusions of this stone, in my opinion actually enhance the desirability of this stone. it is truly an unusual characteristic, there are a number of pieces of rough which have an orange yellow color and have these inclusions in them & they don't seem to turn up in any other colored stone. In observing this phenomenon we have decided to call this type of sapphire, leopard stone, because of the little black spots that turn up in it. to a gemologist these little black spots actually have a specific name-but they nick name them tadpoles. the orange that sparkles out of this stone is awesome & would make someone very happy. it would defiantly make a unique ring. The value for insurance purposes is $1416 Aust {$1031 US } The retail value was calculated by Gemval as $1013 Aust {$738} and that makes the wholesale price $506.50 Aust {$370 US}.
