We have a large selection of  natural colour change garnet cut  in our sister site here under SEDA GEMS.

Garnet members of the pyrope-spessartine solid-solution series from Bekily in Madagascar display several colors depending on the light source. The alexandrite-like color change from blue-green in daylight to purple in incandescent light is mainly caused by relatively high amounts of vanadium. Although they look a lot like alexandrites they are different because they change color throughout the day. They are green or blue grey in the early morning and reddish in the late afternoon or in strong sunlight. Bekily garnets will appear red in the afternoon while the alexandrites remain green. Garnets from other parts of East Africa also change color but as they normally change from brown or orange to red, they don't look much like alexandrite.

Some of the stones are almost blue especially under fluorescent light but most of them are grey blue or green in daylight and change to red under incandescent or late afternoon light. The stones can show an excellent color change and can easily be confused with alexandrite

Garnets species are found in many colors including red, orange, yellow, green, purple, brown, black, pink and colorless. Some  change color from blue-green in the daylight to purple in incandescent light, as a result of the relatively high amounts of vanadium. Other varieties of color-chaging garnets exist. In daylight, their color ranges from shades of green, beige, brown, gray, and blue, but in incandescent light, they appear a reddish or purplish/pink color. Because of their color changing quality, this kind of garnet is often mistaken for Alexandrite.

The owner Paul Sedawie is the current president of the Opal Association. All my life i have enjoyed collecting minerals and fossils .I have been opal mining and now have a large opalized fossil collection of museum quality.I enjoy visiting mines in different parts of the world and try to buy direct off the miner or as close to the source as possible to give you the best deals.Natural stones/minerals fascinate me so I dont stock laboratory made stones.I have a few sites here which I head under the Seda group.I believe that your continued business is my business so I hope you enjoy the amazing array and beauty of nature I have to offer.Best Regards Paul Sedawie We have a retail shop/museum at the Gold Coast Opal and Gem Centre 25 surfers av mermaid waters Qld Australia .4218 open mon to sat 10 to 5

Why are users outbidding themselves?

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.

When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.

Audit

The Gemstone Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent Gemologist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
