FIRE AGATE ROUGH
This is a natural specimen that we have rubbed down to expose the colour bar-it can be further polished which will enhance it more. The bubble colour bar is thin so you have to be careful not to rub it away.As the surface is undualting its best to use a dremel to polish it.When finished the colours can be stunning.

This stone was mined in Mexico but it is found in Arizona also. The stone appears to glow inside like opal. The gem is thought to be formed when hot water saturated with silica and lava oxide invade cavities in the rock and cool.Chalcendony with iron oxide begin to grow on the surface. The iron oxide gives the basic brown colour to the stone. It grows layers of silica and iron oxide. These alternating silica and iron oxide cause the brillant fire from the stone. After the iron oxide ran out of the specimen colourless chalcedony contined to grow over it.
This rough have cracks that are not shown in the pictures and make it worthless. Very disappointed with it, as neither description, neither photos lead to think that is so heavy cracked and is pure waste of money.
