COLOR: Cognac Multicolor Gold and Green
Gemstone photography and videos are difficult and complicated by the unique visual features of Oregon sunstone. We strive to provide accurate photos and videos, however they should be viewed in the context of the above COLOR description.
Oregon Sunstone is rapidly increasing in popularity due to its various colors, dichroism and copper schiller that adds additional visual stimulus. Prices are increasing but are still very affordable, and we suggest that you consider adding this dynamic gemstone to your collection. The recent surge in interest is due to four very positive articles published in the GIA’s Fall 2013 Gems & Gemology magazine. In addition to GIA other labs such as GRS and ISG has validated rough from the Plush and Burns areas of Oregon USA as the only region that mines 100% copper bearing unheated feldspar labradorite as validated Oregon sunstone rough. The rough that is the base for this gem is Certified by the Oregon Sunstone Miners Association and is therefore copper bearing and is “All Natural, All The Time”.
