PARABIA CRYSTALS IN QUARTZ
Medusa Quartz is also known as and sometimes sold as Paraiba quartz because the small deposit was found in the Paraiba state of Brazil.
This new type of included quartz gemstone was discovered in August 2004 in Brazil. It is very rare and in very limited supply.
GIA has an article in Gems & Gemology, called "Medusa Quartz" with gilalite inclusions in the Fall 2005, Volume 41, issue 3.
Under magnification, some resemble the shape of a floating jellyfish named medusas rondeau. Thus the name Medusa quartz. This is 100% natural from the earth and indentification of the inclusions were performed by the National Museum of Natural History in Paris.
Why so dear??? The reason is that the parabia crystals can be taken out of the quartz by being smashed open. The tiny crystals which may need over 100 to make one carat are very valuable and in demand for cutting and setting in jewelery.
Natural
Well polished
Mined in Brazil
Weight 6.35 cts
Size 12 x 11 x 6 mm app
Quartz is a macrocrystalline variety of the mineral Quartz (SiO2). Quartz is the most abundant single mineral on earth. It makes up about 12% of the earth's crust, occurring in a wide variety of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.
Quartz varieties are commonly separated into two groups based on the size of the individual grains or crystals; macrocrystalline quartz in which individual crystals are distinguishable with the naked eye, and cryptocrystalline quartz in which the individual crystals are too small to be easily distinguishable under the light microscope.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.
When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.
