Prasiolite or sometimes spelled praziolite is the name for any quartz crystal or cluster that is green in colour. Prasiolite is actually rate in nature, most prasiolites on the market are heat treated amethyst. When the amethyst is heat treated, the colour transforms into yellow or orange citrine, from a few locations green colour has been the result from heat treatment.
