Rose de France is a variation of Amethyst with its stunning pinkish lavender hue and subtle light tones. The only known source of this gemstone is in Southern Brazil where its delicate color is the result of the presence of titanium oxide.
Rose de France amethysts are generally found for less than 7.5cts. The gem found above this size is a rare finding. It must be noted that amethyst is readily available in large sizes, and its value per carat increases gradually when compared to other stones, whose price can steeply rise for larger jewels.
