2.0ct certified. Blue spinel with a grey modifier here. Saturation is medium (to Rich depends of lighting condition). MediumDark Tone, it's a dark spinel BUT not "black". The Sri-lanka spinels are mostly blue with a green modifier, here it is for me clearly a gray modifier (certified with a purple modifier ... I am not agree ... everyone has their point of view).
The cut is very well done, the oval symmetry is excellent. The facets - table - crown - pavilion are nice to see. The culet is straight, clean cut. However, there is a small window and also light extinction areas ... When the light goes into this crystal, it always "illuminates" the right or left part of the crystal and the other stay " more dark" (extinction). The cut is still good.
The clarity here is clearly small included but face up this spinel is almost clean to the eyes ! (look like).
As you can see in the pictures or in the video, there is a group of inclusions inside this crystal. Some starts below the crown on one side of the oval cut and "ride up" to the culet, always inside the pavilion. All are visible to the eyes FROM the pavilion, through the pavilion, from the back side but face up, they are all barely visible because they are like "drowned" in the blue color when the light is reflected. Face up, almost clean to the eyes but with concentration and good checking, you will still see some of these. SI to VS quality.
