Most of these /mines are since ancient times (2500 years old). These ancient galleries/mines have a total length of over 50 kilometres and were built on 6 levels. The entire mining site of Lavrion constitutes a natural museum since more than 400 mineral specimens can be found in the region.
Most specimens of these minerals are found in private collections due to their rarity.
