Ruby & Sapphire, Fine Jewelry, FGA, DGA, EG Gemologist, Lapidary & Jeweler and writer for Gemmology Magazines.
Here at FlamesJewelry™ our collection of bespoke certified ruby and sapphire jewelry ranges from the contemporary to Edwardian-inspired, with two-tone gold designs, while the under graceful influence of haute jewelry houses.
Our jewelry is designed and crafted in the traditions of time-honored techniques and complex skilled Old World type craftsmanship such as milgraining, filigree, pave work, 2-Tone metals, hand engraving, platinum and more. We create quality pieces where gold, diamonds, and a splash of color, balance and complement, without overpowering — contrast, heft, negative space, light and dark, reflections and eye-catching color are all taken into consideration.
Our workmanship has sleeker curves and corners, strong, durable, yet elegant and proportional congregations of precious metals, set with the rarest qualities of brilliant colorful precious gems, to create eye-catching and scintillating amalgams of ruby, sapphire, gold and diamond.
Graduating from the Gem-A in the year 2000 with the FGA, DGA and EG qualifications, according to Gems & Jewellery Magazine (2017 edition) I have “spent the last 17 years working in Thailand’s main ruby and sapphire market, Chanthaburi. Having worked for early gemstone-internet pioneers Thaigem.com (GemsTV), Simon is now a syndicated buyer of ruby, sapphire and more on behalf of large, gemstone and jewellery companies.”
I have travelled to every major gemstone producing country, worked with every type of rough and faceted gem, and gained the contacts, commercial knowledge, qualitative and pricing experiences, and have also managed both jewelry and lapidary production from rough, and ruby and sapphire treatment.
My work in the gem industry has featured in several magazines and journals over the years, starting in 2001 in Bangkok TimeOut, and includes Jewelry News Asia, Solitaire, GIA Gems & Gemology, the Gem-A’s Gems & Jewellery, and the Gem-A's Journal of Gemmology in both the 3rd and 4th Quarter 2017 editions, and most recently the ICA’s InColor magazine.
