SPHALERITE, QUARTZ SPECIMEN
The name Sphalerite is from the Greek word "Sphaleros" which means deceiving.

ORIGIN : LAKI, BULGARIA
Here is a fantastic and sparkling example coming from Bulgaria consisting of a cluster of the highly sought after black Sphalerite crystals which are well formed topped with terminated Quartz crystals. Colors contrast wonderfully. Specimen is very interesting under magnification as there are many features to explore, view the well formed tetrahedral Sphalerite crystals close up. Although crystals are obvious to the naked eye, with the largest Quartz crystal measuring just above 2 cm, specimen requires magnification in order to enjoy the range of interesting Sphalerite structures and formations.
