It was first discovered in 1910 in Rossing, Namibia

Properties
Heliodor is brittle and vitreous
It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale
It's resistant to external influences
Its color comes from trace amounts of iron impurities
Inclusions of iron can also give heliodor a yellow-green tint
Uses Heliodor is used in jewelry and It's also used for carving and sculpting.
Value
The value of heliodor depends on its color, size, and flaws
Bright yellow heliodors are the most valuable
