CONICHALCITE SPECIMEN

Conichalcite, CaCu(AsO4)(OH), is classified with the adelite group of minerals which is closely related to the descloizite group. Named by August Breithaupt and Carl Julius Fritzsche in 1849 from the Greek "konis" (powder) and "chalkos" (copper) in allusion to its composition and appearance of the mineral at times.
