This natural sapphire specimen originates from the famed Blue Jay Mine near Revelstoke, British Columbia. It displays a classic bluish-silver tone characteristic of raw sapphires from this locality, with a coarse-grained texture and natural fracture lines. The surface exhibits a subtle metallic sheen, enhanced by fine crystal structures typical of corundum in its uncut state.
The piece measures approximately 3–4 cm in length, as shown alongside a ruler for scale, and is partially matrix-free, making it ideal for both collectors and lapidary work. This sample has not undergone any treatment, offering a pristine example of the raw mineral as it appears straight from the earth.
