gr 74 L19 This natural Australian Torrington Emerald we cut ourselves from a parcel we got off the early torrington emeralds. It comes with a certificate (see photos) from Gemval. which proves this is a genuine emerald, because it has the necessary chromium lines seen under the spectroscope. many green beryls are claimed to be emerald but without the chromium, such claims are irrelevant. this doesn't mean that stones shown are not emeralds it just means the owners of said stones have not bothered to see their gemologist to get the proof. we ourselves have been caught out finding some of our torrington rough is green beryl even though it has the color, &  we will always try to be careful to be sure of our facts before presenting a stone to you unless costs prohibit but we will state that this is the case & leave it up to you. this is one of the best emeralds that we have cut so far from stock many stones end up with massive fissures & ugly inclusions, it is very difficult to get a good stone & your lucky if one in twenty that are cut turn out to be of reasonable quality, which makes it understandable why these stones are so rare.
