This is the best Charoite we have ever been able to lay our hands on. the color is mesmerising! This is the best you will ever find!
Charoite at it’s most beautiful. The swirling patterns are due to due to its fibrous crystals being arrayed in complex interlocking patterns. With colorings and markings reminiscent of a piece of fine art, Charoite reminds us of a Van Gogh painting. Wonderful!
Charoite possesses the most wonderful chatoyance or pearly markings in lay mans’ terms. This is what makes it so glorious and unusual.
The region in which Charoite was discovered is located in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia, Russia. It was found by Russian geologists the Rogovazs in the late 1950s and called’ lilac stone’. In 1978 the name “Charoite” was confirmed by the Commission on New Mineral Species - named after the Chara River near where it is found.
