Wow, what a Tanzanite here. Just top quality in every way. This is an old stock stone, sold to us as D Block, which it sure looks to be from the color. Just an amazingly rich Blue color.
This gemstone comes with the pictured appraisal certificate from a GIA Graduate Gemologist in the San Diego Jewelry District. For those who don’t know how appraisal values are determined, they are done in two ways. Some appraisers assign a retail value, whereas others give a replacement value. As you can see, the appraisal value for this piece is a replacement value, meaning that it’s the value it would cost an insurance company to replace the item. And because insurance companies use wholesalers to replace lost or damaged goods, replacement values are considered wholesale, generally around 50% of a retail value. That means that this stone, in a jewelry store, would sell in the range of $18,000. And as you can see, the price we are asking is well below even the wholesale replacement value.
I took pictures of this stone in high magnification against a white background to give you the best idea of color and quality. As a certified gemologist I can verify that the above description is accurate and that this stone/stones have been tested in the gem lab to verify identity and natural origin.

The photos don't do this stone justice. The deep, bright reds are just stunning.
