Tsavorite is a rare, vibrant green gemstone from the garnet family, known for its intense color, brilliance, and durability, making it suitable for jewelry. Discovered in 1967 by geologist Campbell R. Bridges in Tanzania and named after the Tsavo National Park in Kenya where he later found deposits, it's valued for its richness and is often compared to emeralds for its green hue and high sparkle. It has a Mohs hardness of 7–7.5, and its color is caused by trace amounts of vanadium or chromium
