Obsidian gemstone is formed from volcanic activity, it is a natural glass and formed the same way as granite. Obsidian is strong in silica, 35% up to 80% and low in water. Obsidian has been used for centuries as tool making and for jewellery Source Caucasus Mountains, Georgia, Armenia, Russia Up date from suppler Our supply source has inspected the factory that faceted these stones and saw rough nobbies ready to cut. And when we ordered smaller size factory could not cut. Buy they noted workers chipping small chips so we believe these stones are made from reconstituted smaller chips re melted and heated and than faceted as hard to find clean Obsidian of this quality and size.
