Tanzanite is a popular Blue/Violet gemstone that is found in Tanzania. Tanzanite is the transparent blue/purple variety of the mineral ZOISITE. It is routinely heat treated to improve the color. In 2002 the AGTA said was to become one of the official birthstones of December. The World’s largest Tanzanite is 737.81 carat. A very famous Tanzanite at 242 carat is the “Queen of Kilimanjaro”. It owned by Michael Scott, the first CEO of Apple Computers.
