Triplite is one of the rarest gemstones in the world and viewed as a "must have" for their personal collections. It's a reddish orange transparent gemstone. Triplite was discovered in 1813 in France. Most crystals are opaque and dark brown to brownish black in color. Most gem quality Triplite is found in Pakistan, which is the reddish orange transparent material. Even then, it's generally not a very clean gemstone.
Triplite is named for its three cleavage planes that are oriented at right angles to each other. The structure of this stone, combined with its brittle nature, makes faceting very difficult. Successfully faceted triplite gems are extreme rare and are collected by collectors.
