Scolecite is a calcium silicate from the zeolite family. It is most commonly found in Iceland and India and can range from almost colorless to creamy white or yellow. Scolecite is a secondary crystal that forms in the cavities of basalt, granite. It has a hardness of 5-5.5 and typically forms in thin needles with lengths up to 35cm Scolecite is a gemstone beloved by collectors for its unique crystal habits and revered by crystal healers for its calming and cleansing energies.
