Aquamarine is a light blue to greenish-blue, transparent variety of beryl, with colors ranging from pale pastel to deep seawater blue. As the March birthstone, it is highly valued for its excellent clarity, large crystal sizes, and durable hardness (7.5–8 on the Mohs scale). It is often heat-treated to enhance its blue color.
