The only difference between Citrine and Lemon Quartz is in the saturation and tone of their color. Many gem dealers do not even separate the two and use the name Citrine for all yellow Quartz. Lemon Quartz has a rating of 7 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. This indicates that it is a fairly durable gem. It is suitable for all types of jewelry, including rings, as long as the wearer treats this gemstone with love. This elegant ring features large lemon quartz(yellow citrine) and brilliant-cut diamonds. They are earth mined and not synthetic or manmade. Lemon quartz(yellow citrine) is also known as Oro Verde Quartz. It is created by heating amethyst, yellow quartz, and iron together at extremely high temperatures. This heating process is what gives lemon quartz its brilliant, yellow color. These treatments are undetectable. Natural-color citrine is rare, so it’s best to assume that any citrine is heat-treated.
