SAPPHIRE BOMBS
This is a natural untreated specimen of sapphire found in Anakie Queensland.
Sometimes the miner finds sapphire specimens called ‘bombs’ These are often large and un-cutable, you can’t see through them and they may have cracks as they haven’t quite formed to perfection. As specimens they are very interesting, they show the growth patterns of a growing crystal and are often sought after by specimen collectors.You can also skin polish them.
