Orange/Yellow Sapphire Specifications & Characteristics

As a type of corundum, orange/yellow sapphire is an aluminium oxide mineral. Ruby and sapphire are the two corundum varieties.

The mineral often forms barrel-shaped, flat-ended prismatic, or bi-pyramidal crystals. It can also be granular, massive, or rolled pebbles.

Orange/yellow sapphire is a precious gemstone and “fancy colour” sapphire, since it’s not blue.
