These are interesting natural fossil teeth from horses that roamed the American Pararies.They have been polished and where the nerve coloums are they have been inlayed with Turquoise.On the other side of the tooth you can see the top of the teeth. Unusual collectors item.

This is a rock hard molar from a horse that roamed North America during the last Ice Age over 30,000 years ago.The Horse started out in America, the Equus species that this tooth is from.It lived here during the Pleistocene epoch that was app 10,000 to 1.8 million years ago. Sometime during the Ice Age, over 30,000 years ago, the Horse crossed into Asia along the land bridge while the Ocean waters where low and caught up in ice glaciers. App 10,000 years ago the Horse went extinct in the Americas, probably due to rapid environmental changes and over hunting, the Horse population in Asia expanded and spread rapidly into Europe and Africa. The Horse was slowly domesticated over generations and the Spanish brought it back to America to explore the newly found continent. Back when this tooth was alive and being used the Native Americans were eating Horses.
