Icy, icy, icy! Jadeite has been coveted for millennia as China’s stone of choice. New deposits of jade have made icy grade jadeite affordable for everyone. This magnificent piece an extremely rare, faint chatoyancy effect (cat’s eye); it’s absolutely spectacular!
This may not be considered a true chatoyancy effect by some, but it’s pretty darn close and it’s the only time I have ever seen it in jadeite jade (I’ve been collecting and dealing in jade since I was 15!).
Icy jadeite is surpassed only by imperial green and lavender jadeite in value.
