Some cutters like to treat the stone with opticon or resin to get a better finish.
We have also taken a photo of both sides of the slab.
One of the loveliest aspects of the best Charoite gems is a slight to moderate chatoyancy which gives it a silky or pearly luster. This attribute, as well as the swirling patterns and distinctive purple color, is well demonstrated by the piece above.
This is a natural untreated stone which is found in only one location in the world-at the Charo river Aldan Russia.
Color: The colors in each piece of Charoite range from bright lavender, violet and lilac to dark purple with both white, gray and black veining. It forms a swirling pattern of interlocking crystals. Royal lavendar flows with chatoyant streaks of white around bits of black, peach and opalescent gray.
Description: Charoite is an unsual mineral and of rare occurence. It formed from alteration of limestones by the close presences of an alkali-rich nephline syenite intrusion. The heat, pressure and more importantly, the infusion of unique chemicals into the rock is responsible for the transformations into new minerals such as charoite.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.
When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.
