Venster, or Two Window Smoky Quartz Specimen
Goboboseb Mountains, Brandberg Area, Dâures, Erongo Region, Namibia
The Goboboseb Mountains cover an area of 1100 km² and are assigned to the Awahab Formation consisting of interbedded basalts and quartz latites that form part of the 132-135 million-year-old Etendeka Group. Strong evidence suggests the source of the Goboboseb volcanic rocks comes from the Messum Complex. The highest peak of these mountains is the Tafelkop.
