• Rhodonite is an inosilicate of the mineral manganese and an ornamental material prized for its beautiful dark pink color. Its name deriving from the Greek work for rose, rhodonite is especially known for its occurrence in Sweden, Russia’s Ural Mountains and Australia, as well as New Jersey in recent years. When polished, rhodonite crystals exhibit and oily, luxurious luster and the material’s texture is resilient enough for the carving of bowl, boxes, jewelry and other ornamental objects
