Sometimes in the gem industry in India - where we purchased these from - the rough gemstones prior to cutting are enhanced in a high grade molecular process called ‘dipping’ - which enriches the color. I am pretty certain these have gone through that process. Please note that it is not like mass dying of ready cut beads in large vats, which the Chinese do. It is a far better quality process. We have tested the color on these and the results were very good, but I would still recommend that as a precaution, before using them, purchasers should put the beads in very hot water for a few minutes and then dry them out just in case there is any color bleeding.

Carnelian is a variety of Chalcedony. Carnelian is a 17th Anniversary gemstone. It is a base chakra and sacral chakra stone and a stone for the zodiac signs of Taurus, Cancer, Leo and Virgo.
